A Little bit about Jen...

After spending the last few years writing, raising a baby into a toddler, often being inspired from long walks in her Main street neighborhood in Vancouver, Canada. Jennifer also did some co-writing with local artists such as Chin Injeti (nominated for a Grammy On Eminem’s record Recovery, 50 cent, Drake), and Eric Solomon (Divine Brown, Carmen and Camille). She wound up making a record with producer Joe Cruz.

“It came about quite organically, actually, which is the essence of how we wanted to capture the songs on the EP, Joe was quite taken by the songs that I had demo-d, and thought we could string them to life with a talented band”. “We did just that, and had some excellent musicians play on the album. It’s nice, ’cause the album has a nice live vibe about it”.

The Record ‘These are the Ways’ is set for release in March 2011. And you can catch Jen with her band playing Shows in the Vancouver area.

She also keeps herself busy these days, collaborating on tracks with Dance/House artists such as, ‘Airscape’ and ‘Alkatraz’, both of which have been released on BlackHole Records, (DJ Tiestos Label). And has a few songs coming out with the Group ‘Tucandeo’ from Ireland on Armada Records, this summer. Amongst many other collaborations to watch for. Jennifer recently shot a music video for her song Embrace, which was also just recorded in Portuguese by an All Girl group by the name of MaxGirls! And is Released in Spain & Portugal.

Jennifer has been singing since she was 8 years old, and started singing in her first rock band when she was 14, as well as performing in musical theatre. But, it wasn’t until about 10 years ago that she started to songwrite. Growing up listening to a wide variety from her parents record collection, which ranged from Diana Ross, to Paul Simon, Kate Bush, ZZ Top, to The Judds, The Sounds of Motown, and David Bowie, to name a handful, has helped in shaping her as an artist.

If you look at her little Wall of fame (ha), you will see that she has worked on several records to date, including Wes Cravens ‘Cursed’, more recently her solo album ‘The Little Things’, from which her song ‘Sit Back’ was released, and placed on The MOW ‘The party Never Stops’, which aired on the Lifetime Network. You will also see her 2002 release with the group Balligomingo, ‘Beneath The Surface’ who were signed to RCA/Victor at the time, where she had the 2nd single off the album, ‘Sweet Allure&rs which rocketed to the Top 5 of Billboards Dance Club Play Chart. A few months later in the forefront, she toured with Balligomingo, for a 4 week tour to sold-out audiences across North America. Playing rooms such as the ‘El Ray’, in Los Angeles, and NYC’s Famed ‘Bowery Ballroom’. Living, and sharing a bus with Iceland’s ‘GusGus’.

Returning to Vancouver, she co-wrote ‘Kissy Kissy’ with Davor Vulama (Hedley, Blackie & the Rodeo Kings) which was subsequently recorded by Sony/BMG Taiwan Starlets ‘Michelle and Vickie’, and was the title track for their album. Jennifer also made a special appearance on A&E’s ‘The two Corey’s’ where she sang and acted in Coreys Band. As well as appearing singing solo in an international Subway Commercial in 2009.

With various film and televison music placements under her belt, Jennifer continues to work at her craft, keeping busy performing in songwriter circles, and live shows mostly in local coffee shops, and small clubs.
